Ted Mann, digital media director for Gannett newspapers in New Jersey, was the keynote speaker at the annual meeting of the Jewish Community Voice of Southern New Jersey in Voorhees, Camden County, on June 1, 2011. Mann discussed the digital changes and technology innovations rocking the news media industry, and its impact on traditional print newspapers. A sad postscript to the cautionary comments in Ted’s keynote is the post on his blog July 10, announcing that he had killed Gannett’s hyperlocal effort, InJersey.com, with a detailed explanation of why it went dark.
